From the President .....

It's exciting to see Spring approaching again as the Hyland Hills Foundation begins to plan another exciting year of events that will serve to enrich the lives of every child that lives within the Hyland Hills Community.

With the continued support of our Foundation board members, Hyland Hills Park and Recreation District Executive Director Greg Mastriona, the District staff and all of the efforts of our tireless volunteers, we will move forward with an excellent array of programs and events. Each individual makes up the great team of people who keep us on the road to success.

With summer just around the corner, we have an excellent year to look back upon, and a challenging year ahead. As Foundation board members begin to think about the upcoming events, we must keep in mind that a sour economy will force us to redouble our efforts in order to maintain the strong programs that have been pieced together over the years. Because of the deep roots that our members have put down in this community, I'm sure we will be able to overcome the roadblocks.

The Friendly Softball Tournament kicked things off, followed by the Easter Egg Hunt at Carroll Butts Park and then our signature event, the Be-A-Fish Lear to Swim Program. In July, the Annual Mary and Jim Bennett Memorial Golf Tournament will take place, followed by Putts for a Purpose in September and the Silent Auction in October. Later that month, we'll offer the Spooktacular event at Ranum High School and then the Breakfast with Santa at the beginning of December. All in all, it will again be a busy year for each of us.

Thanks in advance to everyone for taking time from their busy schedules to make sure that the community we love remains strong.

I'm sure we'll see you this summer.
